1. Describe mental representation. How does the preschooler think? What are their capabilities? What are examples? What is early metacognition about? 2. Discuss the preschoolers’ mental limitations? Explain EGOCENTRICISM. What about memory strategies? 3. What are the changes in make-believe important to the preschoolers play? What are examples? How does this kind of play contribute to the child understanding their world? 4. What is preoperational thought? Piaget thought there were deficiencies in preoperational thought. What are they? 5. Describe the educational principles that are derived from Piaget’s theory? One would be discovery learning? And…. 6. Describe Vygotsky’s social origins and significance of children’s private speech? 7. Compare and contrast Vygotsky’s and Piaget’s point of view on children’s private speech. 8.
