 Elective Total (26/17/16) Grand Total 60 1. Students are required to be continually enrolled when using university resources to complete their degree. In the event that the dissertation is not completed through the 6 credits of EDL 699, students may enroll in EDL 698: Research for 1 credit each semester until they complete their dissertation. (Note: EDL 698 cannot be used to satisfy the required 60-credits for the Ed.D.):

2. Students are subject to the same grade requirements as other graduate programs at UNCW. From the UNCW Graduate Catalogue (See http://uncw.edu/catalogue/graduate/index.html):

Three grades of C, one grade of F, or one grade of U (e.g. thesis/dissertation) results in dismissal from the graduate program. Further, if a student falls below a 3.0 GPA at any time, he or she goes on academic probation and has either three subsequent courses or nine hours to bring the GPA up to at least a 3.0. In addition, a student must have at least a 3.0 GPA in order to begin any program specific comprehensive examination and/or thesis work.

4. Students are not eligible to sit for the comprehensive exam or begin work on the dissertation until the final year of coursework. Students typically take their comprehensive exam in the final semester of coursework. Students must satisfy all incompletes prior to completing the comprehensive exam.

5. Students requesting to transfer in doctoral-level credits, must meet with an advisor to complete http://uncw.edu/gradschool/currentstudents/forms/transfercreditt.pdf with an advisor, submit to the graduate school, and receive approval before counting the transfer credit. All transfer credit must match courses in Concentrations or Electives. No transfer credit will be granted for General Core classes.
