Keynote presenters at this year’s event include:

 Mr. Safiy Abdur-Rahman, Director of Virtual Design and Construction, New York City, USA

 Mr. Bill Bausmith, Associate Director of Construction Management, Princeton University, USA

 Ms. Amanda Comunale, Director of Construction Piping Services, Victaulic, USA

 Mr. David Pikey, Director of Technology Integration, The Hill Group, USA

 Mr. Oliver Ridgwell, Global Product Specialist of Enterprise Asset Management, Trimble Real Estate & Workplace Solutions, UK

 Mr. Andy Robins, Fabrication Development Manager, Autodesk, UK

In delivering a keynote at this year’s forum, Bill Bausmtih, Associate Director of Construction Management at Princeton University in the United States, will explain how important it is for owners and facility managers to understand their own “unique conditions” when embarking on a BIM strategy, because ultimately it is these elements that will “set the framework for how asset intelligence will be assessed from the BIM model”.

At Princeton, where Bill and his team have been “evaluating our needs for many years; long before the first BIM project came along”, it was the University’s unique 269 year history that presented the greatest challenge. Bill’s keynote will take the audience on “an owner’s journey” by unpacking many of the decisions faced by owners and facility managers along the way, including how to assess BIM- to-FM needs, and how to integrate construction and FM workflows. Similarly, Safiy Abdur-Rahman, Director of Virtual Design and Construction (DDC) at New York City, has been at the forefront of BIM implementation for over 14 years. The insight gleaned from his years working with a variety of architectural, engineering, and construction firms has prepared Safiy for the considerable portfolio he now oversees for the DDC, which is responsible for more than twenty agencies’ projects. That’s twenty very demanding clients whose projects include new developments, but also renovations for a wide range of much loved NYC buildings – from libraries to museums; police precincts to firehouses; emergency medical stations; transportation facilities; health, day care and senior centres; courts and correctional facilities.

Safiy will demonstrate how one of the world’s most enigmatic cities is using Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) to deliver complex projects on time and on budget. Attendees will be provided with an insider’s view of how the DDC is integrating BIM from design to construction through the use of BIM Guidelines, robust execution planning and streamlined project management processes.
