Position Title: Finance and Development Director

Position Summary: The Finance and Development Director is responsible for assuring that the FOA’s programming grows and is sustained financially, and The Foundation of Arts maintains the communities confidence of good stewardship of resources

Position Requirements: The Finance/Development Director must have a four year degree with emphasis in one of the following: business or accounting or non-profit finance. Experience working with fine arts organizations, the public, and the city government is necessary. Previous work with finance and budgeting is necessary. Other helpful experience includes a supervisory level position in a business or non-profit organization, work with boards of directors, coordination of multiple projects, management of competing interests and agendas, and fund raising.

Reports to: Board of Directors and the Executive Artistic Director

Directly Supervises: Book Keeper, Education Programs Director, and Office Manager regarding financial operations

I. PLANNING  Develop and implement an annual and long term development plan reflective of the vision, mission, and priority statement of the FOA as outlined at the annual Board of Directors retreat  Oversee grant acquisition and administration of the FOA  Oversee operation of the fundraising committee of the FOA

II. PROGRAMS  Evaluate FOA programs considering financial outcomes with the Executive Director

III. PUBLIC  Represent FOA with funding sources as needed with the help of the Executive Director  Cause, where possible, the FOA to receive favorable state, regional, and national attention

IV. FINANCIAL REPORTING In consultation with the Executive Artistic Director and Finance Committee  Present annual budget, including salary adjustments, to finance committee  Oversee annual budget implementation, accounting, adherence, and reporting  Maintain working knowledge of funding sources  Complete grant submission, implementation, and reporting  Oversee all accounting functions and participation in the annual audit

V. OTHER  Other duties as assigned

VI. Committees  Serve as a member and staff liaison of the Finance Committee and Fundraising Committee, review agenda & minutes, and make appropriate recommendations to the board.
