Kirby Morgan 37 Specifications

A__The Helmet Shell is hand laid up glass fiber reinforced thermal setting polyester (fiberglass) with carbon fiber reinforcement at key points for added durability. It is light and highly impact resistant, and provides a heat/cold barrier as well as being an excellent electrical nonconductor. Kirby Morgan has over 50 years experience in composite laminations.

B__Steady Flow Valve provides an additional flow of air into the helmet backup air source for ventilation and defogging.

C__Emergency Gas Valve supplies backup breathing gas to the diver.

D__Gas Supply Non-Return Valve is Commercial Rated™ and prevents loss of gas pressure in the event of umbilical damage, preventing a "squeeze".

E__Quick Change Modular Communications are either bare wire posts or a waterproof connector. The communications module is easily removed from the helmet, making repair or replacement of communications parts quick and trouble free.

F__Positive -Lock™ Latch System This latching system, developed by Kirby Morgan in 1992, consists of two spring loaded, sealed Positive-Lock™ pull pins which are pulled forward to release the neck collar and neck dam locking system. Pulling only one pin will not release the neck collar. Both pins must be pulled forward and locked open to release the neck collar. Then, even when the latches are released, the O-ring sealed neck dam maintains a positive seal and will not allow the seal to be broken until the collar actually clears the diver's shoulders, thus preventing any flooding of the helmet.

G__Head Cushion The Head Cushion gives the helmet a secure, well balanced feel as well as excellent thermal protection during long work periods.

H__Air Train diffuses the incoming breathing air/gas onto the face plate to defog the lens.

I__Silicone Oral Nasal Mask is made of a superior silicone material which is hypo-allergenic and has a longer work life than latex.

J__Nose Block Device allows the diver to block the nose to equalize ears.

K__SuperFlow 350® Demand Regulator This all metal, fully adjustable, Commercial Rated™ demand regulator provides easy breathing and excellent performance with low pressure compressors.

L__Quad-Valve™ Exhaust System (Patents Pending) The new KMDSI Quad Valve is a superior exhaust system with exceptionally low exhalation resistance that helps to keep the helmet free of contaminants in polluted water. The Quad valve is the first exhaust that isolates the breathing system from the surrounding water with a four valve, low breathing resistance design, (Patents Pending).

This new system retrofits to many previous Kirby Morgan Helmets. It has been tested and certified to meet or exceed all requirements for all governing agencies.

The Quad Valve is designed to couple the regulator exhaust with the helmet main exhaust and route them into a single plenum chamber, mounted between the regulator body and the main exhaust body. The exhaust gas then must pass through either one of the (or both) exhaust valves that are part of the bubble deflector, exhalation resistance is minimized, while still helping to maintain the isolation of the main helmet and regulator exhaust valves.

M__Externally Adjustable Chin Strap The externally adjustable chin support, along with the adjustable neck pad on the locking collar gives the diver a comfortable, secure fit.

N__Adjustable Neck Pad Assembly The adjustable neck pad is made from a scuff resistant elastomer and, in conjunction with the swing catch, secures the helmet to the diver's head with a comfortable, custom fit.
