Catholic Campaign for Human Development s1

Catholic Campaign for Human Development Sample Bulletin/Website Announcement To be used on Appeal Weekend (November 11-12, 2017) and/or Collection Weekend (November 18-19, 2017)

Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) Working on the Margins Please Give Generously on Collection Week: November 18-19, 2017 (World Day of the Poor)

On November 19, Pope Francis is instituting a World Day of the Poor, the same weekend as our annual collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), the national, anti-poverty campaign of the U.S. bishops. CCHD has been an immeasurable blessing for thousands in our Archdiocese over the years. Just this past year, the agencies funded by CCHD have empowered nearly 2,000 low-income people to break the cycle of poverty through such feats as finding jobs, responsibly reentering society after prison, educating youth, and securing decent housing and public services for their communities. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr appeals to the faithful this year: “Through our contributions to CCHD on the World Day of the Poor, and our engagement with the poor all year round, may we more fully understand the deepest truths of the Gospel.” Please prayerfully and generously consider how you will give on Collection Weekend, Nov. 18-19. Your dollars are making real change!
