HUTTON HERALD

18th June 2021 WORKING TOGETHER

Message from Mr Kelly

I can’t believe that we have only one half term left before the summer holidays. There seems like there is so much to do! I’ve no doubt that it’s going to fly by! Our superhero day was a great success. The children looked fantastic, as did the staff! We had Mr Beckwith as Spiderman, Mr Johnson as Bananaman, Miss Palmer as Mrs Incredible, Miss Martin and Mrs Trevis as Supergirl, to name but a few! Thank you for your kind contributions. Additionally, thank you for all your support so far with preparations for the Summer Fair. I have been in contact with the Local Authority, Health and Safety and Public Health this week, and the Summer Fair can still go ahead on Saturday 17th July. Having spoken to the aforementioned bodies, we have had to make some changes. Originally each class were going to perfom a variety of songs and we were due to have a set from a band called ‘The Beer Pigs’. Sadly none of these things will be taking place now. However, everything else we had planned is still ok to go ahead with. I remain confident that the fair is going to be a great success. Please see the attached flyer to this newsletter for more information about how you can help us make the Summer Fair a wonderful day for everyone.Thank you for those parents who have expressed an interest and already played in the parent/staff football club on Monday nights 7-8. I’m delighted that it appears fitness is…... a work in progress for all of the players, and its not just me! Likewise, thank you to everyone who has sponsored and supported us so far with our latest charity challenge, the 6 Peaks there and back again. The team are taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks tomorrow as part of a training walk. As well as our justgiving link below, we have set up our own public twitter page @CharityHrps. This will not include any children, it is just for our 6 peak charity work and will not be replacing our current private twitter page, where we currently show the things in school that our amazing children get up to. Due to the governments announcments this week, there are a number of things we have had to cancel. (see below) Although disappointing for the children and famlies, I understand the importance of continuing to limit the spread of this terrible virus and hence feel that as a school the correct decisions have been taken in this respect. As always thank you for your continued support. Have a great few weeks everyone. Take care. Mr Kelly Quiz Cancelled Whole School Saltburn Trip https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/huttonr Unfortunately due to the Sadly we have had to cancel the government announcement this whole school trip to Saltburn. This should finish at 3:25. Therefore, on Monday, the Tuesday 20th July. I am as frustrated as children will be late coming out of school. This does impact particularly our everyone else to have to do this, but at least younger children who finish school at either 3:00pm or 3:10pm. Therefore, if the children and all our families can still you do still need to take your child at their normal pick up time, please come to experience sports day. the yard as normal. HRPFest Update The Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday caused quite a stir here at HRPFest HQ. Could the fair continue? What would it look like? Do I have to return all of the prizes or can I just use them myself? However, after much searching and reading of guidance and guidelines, I am delighted to announce that HRPFest aka The Hutton Rudby Primary School Summer Fair is able to take place on Saturday 17th July as planned! Guidance states that as of Stage 2 (when beer gardens opened on 12th April) village fetes and community fairs are allowed to happen with up to 4000(!) attendees. This means we can still enjoy our inflatable assault course, bouncy castle, rodeo bull, inflatable basketball hoops, coconut shy, stocks, refreshments and so much more in a safe, fun environment. We still need help though:  We have introduced a Car Boot Sale element to the fair. If you have enough stuff and you would like to have a space in the car boot sale area of the fair, please get in touch so that we can discuss profit sharing. Anybody who brings their car for a boot sale will gain free entry to the fair.  Due to the country still being in Stage 3 (when the insides of pubs opened on 17th May) we will be offering table service in our refreshments area. We have relocated some teachers already, but this does mean that we need more volunteers for stalls.  We are also still accepting prizes, teddies and donations. For more information on any of the above, or to offer your services, please contact Mr. Johnson ([email protected]). We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 17th July!

HRPFest is kindly sponsored by Devereux Transport & Port of

Summer fair

Thank you to all of our fantastic sponsors and supporters that have come forward so far!

We are still looking for sponsors (we have various sponsorship tiers), parent helpers (to work on stalls), traders (£25 for a stall), and prizes for the day. If you can offer any of the above, or would like to enquire about sponsorship tiers, please send me an email on [email protected] or ring the school office and they

will put you in touch with me th The fair is shaping up to be a brilliant event, so keep Saturday 17 July free in your diary and come and join us at the first ever HRPFest!

In September, the IT Suite will be transformed into our new Year 3 Classroom. The computers in the IT suite are rather old and on their last legs. We will be replacing them with 34 new laptops which can be transported around each classroom via mobile laptop trolleys. Therefore, we currently have 32 computer station desks available, collection only. We also have 30 computer chairs available.

Any donations appreciated.
