JOB OVERVIEW The Senior Geoscientists supervise the delivery of professional Aggregate Resource Management, Terrain Analysis, ML-ARD, and Contaminated Sites services. Position number 00051687 specializes in the management of contaminated sites remediation. Position number 00112557 specializes in the management of metal leaching-acid rock drainage remediation. ACCOUNTABILITIES  Leads the analysis, development, and implementation of Aggregate Resource Management, Terrain Analysis, ML-ARD Assessments and Contaminated Sites solutions.  Directs and oversees projects providing oversight on the procurement of consultants for design work, setting terms of reference (TOR), overseeing proposal evaluations, recommending contract awards, and ensuring contracting policy and procedures are followed.  Provides senior professional advisory services in Aggregate Resource Management, Terrain Analysis, ML-ARD assessments, and Contaminated Sites to senior managers, program staff, engineering consultants and other stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS  Degree in Geology, Geography, Geological Engineering or equivalent as recognized by the APEGBC.  Registered, or immediately eligible for registration in British Columbia with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists as a Professional Geoscientist or a Professional Engineer.  Minimum of 7 years’ experience directly related to Aggregate Resource Management, Terrain Analysis, ML-ARD Assessment, and Contaminated Sites.  Project management experience in infrastructure planning, design and/or construction.  Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
