Technology Permission Form

The faculty and administration of Hephatha Lutheran School is committed to providing students with a 21st century learning environment. As part of this commitment, students will now be allowed to bring their own technology tools (laptops, Smart Phones, iPads, etc) to Camp with them to use at specified “Tech Time!”’s. With approval of Camp Staff, campers may use their own devices at the times specified by the Staff, which will be once mid-morning, and once mid- afternoon.

In order to be permitted to bring technology tools to school, students and parents must be aware of the following:

1. Campers must have permission from Camp Staff before using any technology tool in the classroom. Using a technology tool without permission will result in disciplinary action.

2. Campers are expected to make responsible choices when utilizing the computers in the Computer Lab and all other technology; if campers are not making responsible choices with their technology, it will result in disciplinary action.

3. Hephatha Lutheran School/Camp Ohana is not responsible for any damage or theft of student-owned equipment.

4. Hephatha Lutheran School/Camp Ohana is not liable for a camper’s inappropriate use of electronic communications resources or violations of copyright restrictions or other laws. Additionally, the School/Camp shall not be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, age appropriateness, or usability of any information found on the internet.

My child and I have read, understand, and will comply with the rules outlined above. We understand that non-compliance with this policy may result in suspension of my child’s access or termination of my child’s privileges. We also understand that other disciplinary action may occur. Any violation of this policy that results in system disruption or damage may result in the assignment of financial liability to my child or me.
