APT University Events Calendar Team University Events Calendar Project Monday, May 8, 2000 Minutes

Eric Hamblin opened meeting with discussions on what other team members have been doing as far as follow-ups with Dartmouth. Thomas Dunn has been in contact with Dartmouth about their concerns with the calendar and with our concerns. Lorene suggested to Eric that if the committee does decide to go with the Dartmouth Calendar program we would not have a pipeline to problem areas. It was suggested that we look into other systems. Eric also suggested that if we use the Dartmouth software to start, we could always move on to other software, since the industry is advancing quickly.

Steve Schultz suggested to the committee that before advancing we must define fields that Princeton will need. The committee needs to spend more time on what we are going to require to input on the calendar. Steve is going to research on what Princeton’s needs would be.

David Etherton presented a form that will be used by the First Campus Center in reserving their space. It still in the draft stage.

The committee also reviewed calendars from Emery University. The committee also viewed the Getty Foundation Calendar. Eric Hamblin will contact his contact from the foundation for more information on their calendar.

Next meeting the committee will discuss the following areas: a. What is Princeton concept in the calendar? b. What degree of control are we looking for? c. Define what fields are needed in the submission form.

Next meeting will be Monday, May 15, 2000 at 1:00 p.m., 215 Nassau Hall
