BREMEN HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BRAVES

NEW DIRECTOR

This year, the Bremen Marching Band welcomes a new director, Mr. Frank Menzies. He comes to us from Thornwood High School. A former police officer, he has given the band a new sense of discipline. Mr Menzies has put all his effort in making the band spectacular. The band has welcomed him, with open arms. The band has a newfound respect for music and marching, thanks to Mr. Menzies.

BETTER SHOWS

The marching Braves have added more movements and difficulty to their field shows. This year, they have added two 360-degree turns to the beginning of the show. The band has even learned a dance routine, to impress the crowd.

The band has been hard at work this year to make the shows better than ever. It is evident, if you’ve ever watched there show at half-time, that the band has made many improvements in practice, to perfect their shows and the quality of their music.

COLORGUARD FEATURE

This year, for the first time ever, the band is featuring the colorguard in front of the band. While the band plays “Zoot Suit Riot”, the guard uses new swing flags in their routine. The guard has worked hard to make this feature special. They have added many different movements and dancing to the routine as well.

The colorguard has accomplished many things this year. They have learned more routines in a shorter amount of time then they ever have before. The squad is very dedicated to making their routines look great. A good routine always seems to accent the band and give the show an added flare.

MORE COMPETITION

Mr. Menzies has been working hard to improve the marching band so they can go to competition with other schools. The band has now improved enough that Mr. Menzies is looking to enter them into some competition with other schools in the state.
