(honor degree) in 1963 with final grade (excellent) in Geological Sciences from Assiut University, he ranked the first of his class. M.Sc. in 1967 in Geophysical Sciences (Petroleum Seismic Exploration) from Assiut University. Ph.D in 1974 in Exploration geophysics and Petroleum Exploration from Assiut University. Positions: He was appointed Demonstrator in the Geology department in 1963 and gradated to Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Associate Professor until his current position as Emeritus Professor from 2000. Proficiency in Foreign Languages: English : Very Good. Russian : Good. French : Fair. German : Fair.
-1- Scientific Visits and Conferences: He was chosen as a delegate representing Egypt in different International conferences and Symposia in several countries of the world as member, speaker, organizer, chairman of sessions, chairman of Egyptian delegations and representative of International organizations. His visits include the United States of America, Canada, Holland, Moscow, Denmark, France, Belgium, Germany, South Africa, Algeria, United Arab Emirates, Tunis, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Publications and Research: He has many research papers published in International journals and magazines in addition to peer reviewed journals in Egypt. He supervised a lot of thesis for graduate students.
Outstanding achievements: Prof. Abdel Aati was chosen and appointed in 2014 in the editorial board of the global Universal Journal of Geoscience affiliated to the outstanding Horizon Research Publishing Corporation in the United States of America He has shared in reviewing and judging papers in different world and Egyptian conferences and Symposia. He has shared in the execution of major national projects in Middle and Upper Egypt in the fields of petroleum exploration, land reclamation of Wadi El-Assiuty, construction of Assiut – Hurghada
-3- desert road and evaluation of the sites of Assiut new cities. Founder and President of the Egyptian Club of Earth and Space Sciences (CESS) in 1975. Founder and Faculty Advisor of SEG (CESS Student Chapter of Assiut University) in 2009. Founder and Faculty Advisor of AAPG Student Chapter of Assiut University in 2014. He has shared in training and supervising many of Assiut University students in scientific conferences, symposia, workshops and exhibitions in 14 countries of the world and in Egypt. Honors and awards: The Club of Earth and Space Sciences (CESS) has awarded the first prize at the global level with an International judging committee among 45 nations with projects on the applications of technology of space and remote sensing in the International Science and Technology Festivals held in Moscow in 1998. Medals and appreciation certificates were also awarded to CESS delegation. Prof. Abdel Aati was chosen as the best Faculty Advisor with CESS student chapter of Assiut University among 4 best practices Faculty Advisors in 2009 and 2010 during the annual meetings of SEG in Houston and Denver respectively. He was honored and recognized by presenting to him the plaque of the Egyptian Geophysical Society and appreciation certificate in 2009. -4- the International 6th Symposium on Geophysics in 2010. He was honored and recognized by presenting to him the plaque of the Egyptian Society of Applied Petrophysics (ESAP) in 2012. He has awarded certificate of excellence for the best student chapter of SEG of Assiut University for the academic year 2013 / 2014 because CESS Student Chapter of Assiut University has successfully met the highest standards of excellence among 240 countries. Assiut University has also awarded another certificate of excellence. These certificates have been placed on the webpage of Assiut University and the Faculty of Science. He has honored and recognized for his excellent international efforts during the annual festival 2014 of the Faculty of Science.
He has awarded the prize of best paper of the Faculty of Science of higher impact factor in 2014. He registered in the National Encyclopedia of Outstanding Egyptian Personalities.
