Dear Valued West Marine Customer, We would like to notify you of a voluntary safety recall of the product identified above in Photo A (West Marine Part No. 559419 Rope Cutter-Table Top (Bench Mount) and MarineTech Part No. 55-7070).

MarineTech Products and West Marine have received reports of units overheating, creating a risk of fire and burns. As a result, we are working with West Marine and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to voluntarily take this product off the market.

Our records indicate that you may have purchased one or more of these products. If you purchased the affected product (Photo A), please return the product to MarineTech in exchange for a free replacement cutter that has a thermal safety switch. We have included for your convenience a prepaid UPS label to return your product to us.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of this voluntary recall. We want to provide all West Marine customers with the safest boating experience possible by offering the most current information regarding the products they sell.
