HURCON LEVELS

The HURCON level is determined by the Commanding General, as outlined in the Fort Rucker RMOPS. Note that the determination of HURCON level is based on 50 kt winds, sustained.

HURCON 5: The normal readiness status during hurricane season (01 June – 30 November).

HURCON 4: A hurricane is a possible threat to Fort Rucker with sustained 50 kt winds forecast to arrive in 72 hours.

HURCON 3: A hurricane is a probable threat to Fort Rucker with sustained 50 kt winds forecast to arrive in 48 hours.

HURCON 2: A hurricane is a definite threat to Fort Rucker with sustained 50 kt winds forecast to arrive in 24 hours.

HURCON 1: A hurricane with sustained 50 kt winds is expected to arrive at Fort Rucker in 12 hours.
