Position Summary

This position is responsible for achieving sales and profit objectives, working in conjunction with the Buying Teams. This responsibility includes the development / setup of items, replenishment strategies, merchandise allocation / distribution strategies, and store assortment management. The position will also play a key role in assortment creation and execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Sets up items in item data base  Analyzes, recommends and maintains the optimal store assortments for their areas of responsibility, and coordinates field input into the assortment and replenishment settings.  Provides Distribution and planning and replenishment systems expertise for other users.  Partner with Planning Director for potential systems and process enhancement-Participates in assortment planning process and makes recommendations to support allocation strategies.  Provides analysis and research to support the creation of the assortment and buy plans.  Provide pertinent visibility / feedback / direction to Buying teams on Top Selling items and Slow Selling items.  Provide pertinent feedback / direction to Planner and Buying Team to support the development of store volume clusters.  Guides distribution strategies to optimally incorporate store demographics into the assortment and allocation processes.  Reviews case pack and order flow recommendations.  Reviews store feedback related to assortment.  Participates in the Business review Analyses store-level inventory productivity and makes adjustment to business trends.  Provides information to aid the topside inventory productivity and merchandise profitability analysis.  Provides information to aid in the age of inventory /exit strategy  Responsible for creating replenishment orders to vendors.

Education and Experience

Applicants must have Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Abilities

 In depth knowledge of retail business processes  2+ years experience with retail systems  Customer service oriented, willing to go the extra mile  Ability to interact with clients on any level  Strong oral and written communication skills  Ability to work independently or with a team  Ability to research problems and provide solutions  Motivated by the desire to make a difference in the business, to work with a highly talented set of peers, and to work on interesting projects  Display positive and constructive attitude  Demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and a sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently  A high sense of responsibility to our customers, our users, our colleagues  Experience with purchase orders, receipts, transfers, distribution, and price changes  Previous experience using JDA (ASR) or equivalent preferred

Physical Demand & Work Effort

This position is generally seated in a temperature controlled office environment that is relatively quiet. The position requires use of a computer and telephone and is primarily seated. Some walking and standing are required. There is minimal lifting up to 10 pounds, usually a paper catalog or reference book.
