JOB DESCRIPTION Calista Corporation

Job Title: Accounting Manager Location: Anchorage Reports To: Assistant Controller Department: Finance Schedule: Regular, Full-Time, M – F, 8am -5pm FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY The Accounting Manager will work under the guidance of the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller to strengthen general accounting functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Review monthly journal entries.  Review monthly account reconciliations.  Review project ledger to general ledger reconciliations.  Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and project ledger to general ledger reconciliations.  Research complex accounting transactions according to U.S. GAAP.  Recommend improvements to current processes.  Maintain financial policies and accounting principles/practices in compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal and external reporting requirements, and corporate policies.  Perform complex analysis.  Assist with internal and external audits and reporting requirements for external sources.  Mentor employees by answering questions and assisting with project accounting.  Assist with month-end close and preparation of monthly financial statements.  Prepare financial reports and analysis for management.  Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.  Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job assists in supervising the accounting department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES  Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.  Strong knowledge and working experience using Deltek Costpoint and ability to train employees to use Deltek Costpoint.  Must have knowledge of U.S. GAAP.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Ability to learn new applications.  Ability to type 45 words per minute.  Ability to learn and understand the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).  Ability to actively listen and provide high quality customer service.  Ability to do business ethically with customers, vendors, and co-workers.  Ability to be detail oriented; superior organizational, follow-up, and records maintenance skills.  Ability to exercise resourcefulness.

QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.  Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in accounting.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.  CPA or CMA certified strongly preferred.  Experience in government contracting and DCAA compliance preferred.  Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check.
