Angela McGregor, Secretary  April minutes were approved as submitted.

Mr. Greene, Treasurer  The bank balance is $17,821 before commitments, including about $7250 for Sea Base and $3200 for summer camp.  Mr. Greene will complete statements for each scout account prior to the next Court of Honor on May 10. Mr. Carricato requested reports for Sea Base families.

A. Talkish, Senior Patrol Leader  The campout at Camp McCrady went well; it was fun.  PLC will be tomorrow. The agenda is planning upcoming meetings and the Pisgah campout.  Mr. Heron said that the grubby campout may be the same weekend as Pisgah. Mr. Heron suggested that after the business portion of the meeting, grubbies should be released to troop guides, and that troop guides need to actually lead.  Dr. VanDam will do camp physicals at the PLC tomorrow (no regular meeting)

Mr. Ackermann, Summer Camp  Summer camp will include 37 scouts—three with scholarships (one Eagle).  Last payment is due May 24.  Mr. Ackermann is collecting health forms.

Mr. Carricato, Sea Base  All payments have been made, and tickets to the Kennedy Space Center have been purchased.  The first swim test will be May 14. All participants must pass.  Participants will need the scouts’ high adventure medical form.  13 boys and 5 adults will attend.

Mr. S. Lee, Pisgah  No permit or reservations are needed. Site is first come/first served.  Need number of people attending.

Mr. Clamp, Chair  Per Mr. Barnes, the OA elections will be May 17. Rob Lee’s mock Eagle board will be May 15th.  Mr. Norris has completed preparation for the Gem Mining campout.

Mr. Law, Advancements  The Court of Honor agenda is not particularly long. There are a few rank advancements and a lot of service stars.

Mr. G. Lee, Scoutmaster  Camp McCrady was a great leadership campout, as usual. The North Guard Youth Challenge spoke with our boys and it was excellent.  The Court of Honor in August will be Mr. Lee’s last as Scoutmaster. We will need to find a replacement that believes in the boy-led philosophy. Mr. Clamp said that we should have two names as replacements. The institutional representative (in our case, Mr. Law) is responsible for choosing the leader.

 Mr. Ackermann asked about a pancake breakfast at Fatz, and said it needs a boss. Unfortunately, the camp card fundraiser didn’t happen because no one took charge. Web Host will start soon.  Mr. Clamp added that we need a fundraising chairperson. He also asked if it was still possible for parents to complete a blanket permission slip instead of one for each trip. We used to do that. Mr. Ackermann responded that they need individual permission slips, but we might just list all of the trips and check the ones they want to attend (or do not want to attend). We can collect the list at the Court of Honor.  Ms. McGregor made a motion that we ask adults to cover the cost of their own rechartering. Mr. Heron seconded. Motion passed.  Mr. Jordan suggested that we recruit Eagle scouts to be Assistant Scoutmasters as they age-out.  Mr. Croom said we need to work more closely with officers and make sure they’re doing their jobs. The scribe is not taking attendance. Several committee members agreed to mentor positions: Clamp: Chaplain’s Aid Ackermann: Librarian and Quartermaster Corley & Shelton: ASPLs  Mr. Franklin said that the obstacle course at McCrady was awesome, and suggested that the troop have more frequent teambuilding activities. Mr. G. Lee said we can do that via scout skills competitions.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:17. Submitted by Angela McGregor, Secretary.
