Job Title: Director of Development Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Development will focus primarily on identifying, planning and implementing fund raising and development efforts. These will include but not be limited to capital and endowment campaigns to support current and future initiatives ensuring the continued strength and growth of the Levine Jewish Community Center.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES AND ACTIVITIES: The Director of Development will be responsible: To provide overall strategic direction for the fundraising functions and priorities of the agency. To professionalize and systemize the agency’s fund raising functions to be more responsive, effective and efficient. To create, implement and manage an agency wide development plan that includes capital campaign, major gifts and donors and legacy/endowment giving. In partnership with CEO, create and maintain a vibrant Development Committee that will work to maximize lay leadership participation thereby ensuring a viable solicitor base for agency fundraising. In partnership with CEO and Senior Management, to oversee the processes of identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and build an effective, multi-faceted donor recognition program that acknowledges and also builds a base for future support. To work with entire staff management to create and sustain a culture of development throughout the agency. To work with marketing to develop and drive a sustainable marketing plan addressing continued fundraising. To personally and proactively engage the solicitation of donors on behalf of the agency. To participate/attend in various agency wide programs and events as a means to meet and develop meaningful relationships with members and potential donors.

Competencies , Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree required Minimum 5 years business experience required, preferably in development work that would encompass gift solicitation, stewardship, recognition and the administration of fundraising. Demonstrated successful track record with lay leadership, training and motivating a development team. Comfortable and experienced with direct solicitation. Excellent problem solving skills seeking “work arounds” and win/win solutions. Strong knowledge of Jewish values and traditions
(The expectation is a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays and special events and additional duties as deemed necessary).
Note: Salary commensurate with experience. Full benefits package. No relocation reimbursement.
