BUCHANAN PARK ADULT SLO PITCH RECREATIONAL LEAGUE RULES AND REGULATIONS – 2017

1. TEAMS

a) On the field: 7 males & 3 females - No more than 7 males on the field - You are allowed more than 3 females on the field at one time - if only two females are there to play and you have more than 7 males, the 2 females you have must be in your first 9 batters and the 10th batter is an automatic out. Any extra male batters will bat after the automatic out.

b) Teams may borrow females from other teams if needed, during the regular season but not in playoffs.

c) All batters must play at least three inning per game. d) Teams can have a maximum of 18 players. e) No changes to the rosters after June 13th. Any changes must be brought to the leagues attention, so the player can sign the roster and play. f) All registration payment and player waiver forms must be handed in by Monday, May 30th by 6:30 p.m.

2. GAME CONDITION

a) Regular season games start at 6:30 PM and may be defaulted at 6:45 PM at the discretion of the Umpires. Umpires must allow teams to attempt to avoid defaults.

b) 7 innings per game

d) No new inning will start after 8:20 PM. If there are a few minutes before it is the discretion of the umpires.

e) The Umpire has the authority to call any game due to inclement weather or darkness.

f) In the case of inclement weather or darkness (at the Umpire’s discretion), 4 complete innings will constitute a complete game. If less than 4 complete innings are played before the game is permanently halted, the game will be rained out and no points will be awarded in the standings. Rained out games will not be rescheduled.

j) If games are going to be cancelled due to bad weather, it will be posted on the website and Facebook page by 5 p.m. 3. EQUIPMENT

a) ASA or NSA approved bats only.

c) No metal cleats can be worn.

d) Buchanan Park Slo Pitch policy recommends that all pitchers and runners wear a helmet.

4. GAME RULES

*league has adopted rules from Slo Pitch Ontario Rule book

a) Sliding is allowed at all bases; no sliding at home, players must run past the sage line. If you slide at first base, you must slide to the orange baf.

b) Head first sliding is not allowed.

c) Game sheets and score sheets must be handed in after every game.

d) Commit line 15’ from home plate, cross this line no retreat to 3rd base

e) Runner cannot touch home plate. Runner scores by crossing line extension of 1st base line.

f) No lead-offs, ball must be hit. g) 5 runs max, per inning, last inning will be open. 15 run mercy after 5 innings. h) Diamond #1: a ball hit on the road or past is a home run; ball that rolls onto the road is a double; ball hitting the trees is a live ball and in play. i) Diamond #4: a ball hit on the road or past is a home run; ball that rolls onto the road is a double; ball hitting the trees is a live ball and in play; and a ball that hits the pavement of the school property is a live ball.

5. Play-offs

In the event of a tie for a position, it will be decided by: i) head to head play ii) total runs for and against (against each other) iii) total runs for and against for the season against everyone.

There is NO Smoking on the Buchanan Park property, according to Hamilton Bi-Law. Absolutely NO alcohol allowed at the park.
