Announcements Daniel from OMB is interested in learning more about libraries Current Topics County / Library Updates Kent County – Bookmobile will be celebrating 25 years. Bookmobile day will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014 during National Library Week. If all of Kent County Read the Same Book – “Blood and Chocolate” meet the author – Annette Curtis Klause on Saturday, April 26 at 11 and 2 Smyrna, Kent County and Dover will be hiring part-time personnel. DAFB is interested in joining the consortium.

New Castle County – new General Manager – Sofia Hansen. Rt. 9 library is a priority of the county administration. Friends of Newark are sending a letter to the legislators Thursday, April 10 at St. Marks – Matthew Quick event NCC and Wilmington to work on a closer relationship County.

Sussex (handout): Minimum wage is a budget challenge. Greenwood opening tentatively mid- May DLA Leg Day – community has designed a poster with the various logos from organization that they will share with legislators at DLA Leg Day. DDL Updates – Budget, National DDL Updates: Rankings Budget forecast this year is not good. There is a hiring review, DDL Management Analyst is vacant and we cannot post it. There is a meeting scheduled with Sec. Bullock and Sec of Education Murphy.

National Rankings – DE impacted by not updating population numbers annually Summer Reading numbers have been flat. Using Evanced may help increase participation. ILEAD USA – Delaware participating, will be hosting sessions for DE library staff in 2015.
