Optician Job Duties and Responsibilities

There are the following duties and responsibilities as follows:

 He or she has the duty to take the details of the required eyeglasses from the client.

 He or she has to design in accordance to the desired style.

 He or she has the responsibility to make the eyeglasses as per the specifications.

 It is needed to design as per the prescription of the customer.

 He or she is responsible for conducting an eye test to recommend the necessary power for the lenses of the glasses in some cases.

 He or she has to assist the customers in choosing the right frame according to style and requirement of the customer.

 He or she needs to measure the size of the eye, the vertex distance, length of the temple etc of the patient.

 The duty also includes examining the eyeglasses closely to ensure that the glasses have been made accurately.

 He or she has to carry out the alterations of the eye glasses if required.

 It is needed to ensure that the eyeglasses are perfectly fit and that it does not damage the eyes of the customer.

 He or she has to fulfill the following tasks such as fixing, adjusting, and repairing the eyeglasses as per the requirement of the customer.
