A RESOLUTION Adjourning the House of Representatives in Honor and Loving Memory of James s2

A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke. WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke was born on July 25, 1934, the son of the late William Wallace and Mary Frances Simon Alcoke; and WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke became affectionately known by his family and friends as "Coozie" while he was playing basketball in high school, and retired after years of outstanding work as a Systems Analyst with International Business Machines (IBM); and WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke served his Commonwealth and his nation honorably as a member of the United States Army; and WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke dutifully served God through his membership in the First Christian Church; and WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke was a long time community leader and local government official in Woodford County where he served on the Versailles City Council for four years and the Woodford County Fiscal Court for 24 years; and WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke was a devoted family man and he was the loving husband of his wife, Mary Nave "Sissy" Alcoke. Other survivors include his daughter, Melissa Alcoke (Michael) Biles; a stepson, Edward C. (Ellen) Nickles III; a granddaughter, Amanda Moore; three step-grandchildren, Taylor, Emily and Sam

Nickles; a brother, William (Peggy) Alcoke; and numerous nieces and nephews including Libby Nave Miller and Tricia Nave Kittinger; and WHEREAS, James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke departed this earthly life on February 1, 2011, and an entire community joins his family and friends in mourning his loss; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives, both individually and

collectively, express their most sincere condolences and sympathy to the family, friends, and community of James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of James Richard "Coozie" Alcoke.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mary N. Alcoke, 119 Old Hickory Lane, Versailles, KY 40383.
