2009 NATIONAL PONY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS SCORING Revised and approved by PCA on 14th November 2008

General Age Groups as at 1 January 2009 (per PCA rules)

. Junior /Members- 12 & Under 17 years . Associate - 17 & Under 26 years Champion State Award over all disciplines – Roger Braham OAM Perpetual Shield.

Olympic Disciplines Each State/Territory permitted six riders in each age group in each Olympic Discipline

. Teams (min of 3, max of 4) to be nominated following the warmup events. Only Team members scores to count towards team awards . Teams – top three scores to count (i.e. one discard score in a team of four riders from the nominated team members) . Points accumulated from each event . All competitors will be scored for Individual Championship

Gear Rules as per each States/Territories own rules

Riders may participate in Dressage and one (1) other discipline. Due to the timetable it is not recommended but it is at the individuals State/Territory’s discretion.

Substitution of mounts due to injury or illness will be at the discretion of each State/Territory up until the commencement of competition of the discipline entered. It is important to note that substituted combinations must be equivalent standard to compete.

Riders cannot be substituted.

Mounted Games

Ages – as per international rules.

Each State/Territory permitted 1 team of five riders in each age group for Mounted Games

Scoring as per current rules.

Awards . Ribbons to 7th place overall (five team members) . Rug & Sash to overall Winning Team in each age group . Reserve Champion sash to overall Reserve team in each age group (five team member) . Medallions to 3rd place for each team member Dressage

Scoring Scores to be on the basis of 5 points for 1st place down to 1 point for 5th place in each test.

Scoring for individual champion to count over the three championship events (i.e. not including the warm up event or Pas De Deux).

In the event of an equality for Individual Champion, countback as

. Go back to no. of 1st places, 2nd places, 3rd places, 4th places, 5th places . If still equal go back to place in highest test

Scoring for Champion Team to count over the three championship events (i.e. not including the warmup event or Pas De Deux) with the team (from the nominated members) with the most points being the winner.

In the event of an equality for Champion Team . Go back to no. of 1st places, 2nd places, 3rd places, 4th places, 5th places . If still equal, the addition of the three riders with the highest points in the highest ranked test will be the team score. . If still equal then the highest team points (not necessarily the same riders) in the second highest ranked test and so on until a division is reached.

Awards . Ribbons to fifth place in each test including warmup event. . Ribbons to third place for teams. . Sashes and Medals to third place overall for Individuals and Teams . Rugs for Individual Champions and Champion Team Showjumping

Heights Members Maximum start height of first event 1.05m Associates Maximum start height of first event 1.10m Scoring Scores to be on the basis of 5 points for 1st place down to 1 point for 5th place in each event.

In the event of an equality for Individual Champion countback as

. Go back to no. of 1st places, 2nd places, 3rd places . If still equal go back to PC National Grand Prix result

Scoring for Champion Team to count over the four championship events (i.e. not including the warmup event) with the team (from nominated team members) with the most points being the winner.

In the event of an equality for Champion Team . Go back to no. of 1st places, 2nd places, 3rd places . If still equal go back to team result in PC National Grand Prix result

Awards . Ribbons to fifth place in each test including warmup event. . Ribbons to third place for teams. . Sashes and Medals to third place overall for Individuals and Teams . Rugs for Individual Champions and Champion Team Eventing

Scoring Scoring for individual champion to the three championship phases (i.e. not including the warm up events). The rider with the lowest score will be the winner.

In the event of an equality for Individual Champion countback as

. Go back to cross country score – rider with best score placed higher . If still equal go back to dressage score – rider with best score placed higher . If still equal go to total collective scores for dressage . If still equal go to showjumping score

Scoring for Champion Team to count over the three championship phases (i.e. not including the warmup event). The team with the lowest score over the three riders in each discipline (not necessarily the same rider) being the winner.

In the event of an equality for Champion Team, the teams will be divided as for the individuals . Go back to cross country score – team with best score placed higher . If still equal go back to dressage score – team with best score placed higher . If still equal go to total collective scores for dressage . If still equal go to showjumping score
