Information required at inspection – farm and horticulture
This guide is designed to help you prepare for your annual inspection visit. Please ensure that all information listed as ‘essential’ is readily accessible at your inspection; if it is not, we may need to carry out a follow-up visit at additional cost. All information provided at inspection will remain confidential within Soil Association Certification Limited. Records and documentation should cover the period since the last annual inspection. We can provide record sheets in paper versions, or they can be downloaded from our website at www.sacert.org/forms Use this tick-sheet to ensure you have the relevant information available for your inspection.
General Importance Annual Questionnaire completed and signed Essential Up to date farm map(s) Essential Permissions/approvals/correspondence If applicable Marketing details (examples of labels, promotional material) If applicable
Financial records (std 3.4) All purchase invoices and sales receipts since the last inspection Essential
Crop production (std 3.4.13) Rotation plan Essential Inputs (including any non-organic cropping) Essential Yields (including any non-organic cropping) Essential Seeds: purchase records, permissions (save old packets/labels) Essential Modules/transplants: brought in and raised Essential Manures management plan: storage and treatment/composting Essential Imported nutrients: FYM, fertilisers, green waste etc If applicable Pest and disease control methods If applicable Propagating composts (std 5.2.11) If applicable
Livestock (chapter 10.0 & std 3.4.14/23) Livestock management & health plan for each enterprise Essential Movements, births and death record Essential Organic transfer documents for bought-in/sold livestock If applicable Feeding records for all feeding groups within each livestock enterprise Essential
