The new Alma user interface can keep track of how you’ve been recently using Alma.

When you need to make a choice from any drop-down menu, Alma will display up to five of your most recent choices at that drop-down.

For example, the first two choices here are ones you’ve recently selected in this menu … as shown by the grey clock icon on the right side of each of these two.

Another example is here when creating a new License. Several fields require you to choose from a large list, and you have to use a search function to find your choice.

But this field also has the Recent button. Click it, and you can see the choices you’ve made recently, or you can quickly search without going to the large list.

1.4 Recent Searches

Notes:

When you click your cursor in the main Alma search bar (which will be present at the top of every page in Alma), Alma displays a list of repository search terms for which you recently searched. That way, if you need to search for the same thing several times, it’s easy to do.

And just like the other customized elements of the new Alma user interface, all the recent choices Alma remembers are specific to you, not to other users in your institution. Even if you log into Alma on a different computer, Alma will display your recent choices, so you can pick up where you left off.
