Lunch Volunteer Responsibilities

All lunch volunteers are required by the NY Board of Health to wash hands and to put on gloves prior to handling any food Team Captains

1. When you arrive, go to main office and ask for the hot lunch key from Mrs. Schulman and if applicable, the vendor check from Mrs. Ryan to bring downstairs.

a. McDonald’s and Wendy’s: Mrs. Ryan has vendor checks in office, can be picked up the day before or day of pickup. Hot Dog/Buns, please pick up Restaurant Depot card from Mrs. Ryan to purchase. Pizza, Bagels and Pasta are delivered directly to the school.

b. Tip for food delivered is included in vendor check total, please add $10 as a tip to the total amount due.

2. For hot food, turn oven warmer on by setting dials to 7 (on/off button and dials located bottom of oven)

3. Record hot food temperature in Daily Temperature Log located in blue bin (required by Board of Health).

4. After food service, please make 2 copies of the vendor check receipt/invoice/RD receipt. Leave one copy each in the brown hot lunch coordinator and blue treasurer folders located outside of Mrs. Barry’s office. Return hot lunch key. All Team Members

1. Snacks, drinks and other condiments/supplies (napkins, straws, trays, etc..) in hot lunch closet and silver refrigerator. SEAS supplies bowls, plates, spoons/forks, napkins and straws. Stock North and South Cafeterias as per the daily summary order list, 2 copies of which will be located in the blue lidded bin.

a. Session 1, 11:30am – Noon: K-2nd grade in South Cafeteria; 3rd – 5th in North

b. Session 2, Noon – 12:30pm: 6th grade in South Cafeteria; 7-8th grade in North

2. Generally 2-3 volunteers per cafeteria, volunteers will need to distribute food/drinks as per meal tickets. If child forgot meal ticket, please check master list.

3. Food and drink cannot be purchased day of lunch.

a. If student did not pre-order/bring lunch, cereal/milk is available

4. All non refrigerated food and supplies must go back into the clear plastic bins.

a. Return all items to their original bins and ensure lids are closed tightly.

5. All food serving supplies (plastic and aluminum trays, serving utensils, etc..) must be washed with hot soap and water prior to being put away.

6. Clean food serving tables in each cafeteria with Lysol wipes (wipes are in hot lunch closet)

7. Clean counters in kitchen with Lysol wipes. Special Requirements: 1. Pizza – Nino should leave garbage bags out to dispose of pizza boxes. If he did not leave out, they are in his closet, which is located right next to the North Cafeteria

2. Pasta – when serving, as much as possible please try and serve a similar amount in each bowl

3. Hot Dogs – Team Captain sets water to boil around 10:45am, dogs take approximately [10-15] minutes to cook. Internal temp at least 160 degrees.
