Instructions for Self-Calculating Wage Reports

1. Download 2016-2017 Self Calculating Wage Report from Brew’s teacher page.

2. Save to your flash drive or computer. File will be used entire school year (Aug – May)

a. Tabs on bottom indicate the month

3. Complete the information at the top of the excel spreadsheet: (Begin typing in yellow sections)

a. Student name (First and Last)

b. Employer (Business)

c. Supervisor (First and Last)

d. Work Telephone Number

4. In order for the spreadsheet to calculate your total time and wages:

a. Enter Time In (In hours and minutes) Example: 2:00 pm

b. Enter Time Out (In hours and minutes) Example: 5:30 pm

c. Total time will automatically calculate

5. DO NOT enter anything into Total Hrs & Min (spreadsheet will calculate)

6. Enter your Rate/hr (7.25 for most, 0 for unpaid interns)

7. If you receive tips/commission, enter it; if not, leave blank

8. DO NOT enter anything into Gross earnings (spreadsheet will calculate)

9. Save as: Last Name First Initial Month Dates of Week

Example: BrewD July 31_Aug 6

10. Each week submit weekly report to Mrs. Brew using http://www.dropitto.me/dbrew (password will be issued)

a) For each week, simply open the spreadsheet from where you have it saved and add that week’s wages and hours. b) Save again following same filename format: Last Name First Initial Month Dates of Week

a. Example for second week: BrewD August 7_13

b. Example for third week: BrewD August 14_20

11. At the end of the month:

1. Turn in copy of most recent paystub if you are paid; if you are not paid, print spreadsheet, have your supervisor sign, and turn in form to teacher.

2. Save using the same format but include the name of the month:

a. Example – BrewD August

b. Example – BrewD September
