TRAINING COURSE OUTLINE – Local Enterprise Office Wicklow Workshop Title: Accessing Finance for your Business Workshop Duration & Time: Half day (morning); 9.30am – 1.30pm (coffee break, 11am) Dates: Note: Each Workshop is a standalone workshop, i.e. you only need to attend one. Please note: in the event of bookings for a monthly workshop falling below 4 people, the workshop will be offered as a one-to-one advice clinic instead, where each participant will have one hour of individual advice with the trainer, instead of the classroom style format. Participants will be advised in advance should this be necessary and have the option to transfer to another classroom style workshop instead, if they prefer (fee remains the same for either option). Qualifications and Both Lar and Niall have decades of experience in the banking sector and in Background of Trainers: business consulting, including topics such as: accessing finance, funding options and loan applications. Working with Local Enterprise Office clients is a big feature of their work, so both trainers have a very good understanding of the practical needs of small businesses, and both deliver their workshops in ‘plain English’. How to write a business plan for an investment proposal/grant/loan – the critical elements that must be included and how to structure the document Overview of Microfinance Ireland (MFI), crowd funding, private investment, business angels, bank/credit union loans, invoice discounting, leasing, government grants etc. Specific information and examples of how loans are assessed – analysis applied and common reasons for loan refusal Training Methodology: The trainers will use a combination of case studies and group work in addition to conventional powerpoint/flipchart presentation. Online video resources will be recommended.
