INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING FOR THE ONE TERM, One-Time Only EXTENSION OF TIME
MASTER’S STUDENTS
Please find below the application to apply for the one term extension of time. This application must be completed and returned to PCOE Student Affairs. The extension of time will not be reviewed until this application is received.
The most time granted by the Dean for an extension of time is one term. If you need more than one term to complete your degree, you will need to complete the application for Readmission to a Master’s Program, available from PCOE Student Affairs.
The process for reviewing the extension of time can be lengthy. You will not be permitted to enroll in classes until the one term extension of time has been approved. You are encouraged to apply for an extension of time six months in advance of your time limit expiration date.
The following people will review the request for an extension of time. The request can be disproved at any step in the review. If your request has been disproved, you will be notified.
1. First review - Major Advisor - the major advisor can indicate that they support the request for the extension or they do not support the request for an extension of time.
2. Second review - Department Chair
3. Third review - Dean, College of Education
When your request for the one term extension of time is approved or not approved, you will be notified by PCOE Student Affairs.
If you have not done so, you should make contact with your major advisor in order to work closely with that person while pursuing the request for an extension of time.
