Education/professional experience 1965 to 1968 studied history at Fribourg University, graduating as lic. phil. I. 1968 to 1971 studied economics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), awarded Dr. oec. HSG in 1979.
From 1977 to 1994 Elmar Ledergerber worked as a partner at INFRAS AG (infrastructure, environment and business consultants). Up to 1998 he was Managing Director of Econcept AG (business and political con- sultants in the fields of economy, ecology and infrastructure develop- ment). Elmar Ledergerber was elected Member of the City Council in 1998, and has been Mayor of the City of Zurich since 2002.
