Promoting the “Project Lead the Way” through Bishop Miege – rising 8th graders. Zero hour (before school likely).

Discussion of after school library study hall very full, possible support from parents for Mrs. O’Connor. Mr. Riley seeking similar program to reach 5-8 grades, coordination with Andrew Lynch. Suggested ideas of youth mass, movie meet, historical/presentation by Mr. Lynch. Request for additional ideas to support grade 5-8 parish/community involvement.

Discussion on student enrollment, Mr. Riley positive about incoming enrollment. Discussion of possibility of taking additional students with voucher program.

Discussion of retiring teachers, incoming teachers and experience, enrollment, recruitment from preschool (St. Ann YCC and other schools).

Megan Schumm (Box Tops): Present. Reported box tops brought in nearly $300. First grade was winner for biggest class collection, and earned dress down day.

Special Presentations:

Beth Fritts – Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City (JAKC)

Presentation of program, potential of having JA in school with parent/community involvement. Program promotes financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Proposing “blended” program, available online with parent volunteer/guide. Cost of program assessed to school (example given: $100 kit to service 32 students – total cost for school about $1000 estimated).

Proposed program for 7th and 8th grade at 2 day per week, after spring break – total of 3 weeks with 2 sessions per week. Proposed time for 2017 is 8:00-8:45. Details to be sent to parents of 7th and 8th by Christy Staker via sign up genius.

K-8 planned for 2017-18 school year. Course consists of 45 minute sessions, total of 5-6 weeks per grade/program. Discussion relating to publicizing, notice to parents for 2018 year.

Tiger Trot Goal of $40,000 fundraising, underwriting open as of 3/6/18. Top 3 selling families to get prize. All items available online (t-shirts only available online). March 31 kickoff - See timeline for details on dates.

Jean Lucas – works for publishing company with local author. Plan to bring him to school to give presentation, possibility of purchasing books, discussion of pre-purchase and promotion of materials.
