CHILOÉ ISLAND, PENGUINS AND LOCAL CULTURE

An adventure in the north part of Chiloé island that begins early in the morning crossing on a 40 minutes ferry the Channel of Chacao, home of different species of birds as swans, petrels, terns, pelicans and many others. The tour continues along the coast at Caulín bay, with an oyster tasting in front of the sea. After that we drive to Puñihuil area, where we will navigate for to the breeding colony of different species of birds where the Magellanic and the Humboldt Penguins spend the spring-summer season. After a lunch at a local restaurant we move to the town of Ancud and start the way back to Puerto Varas.

CHILOÉ, PINGUINOS Y CULTURA LOCAL Una aventura en la parte norte de la isla de Chiloé que comienza temprano en la mañana cruzando el Canal de Chacao, hábitat de diferentes especies de aves como petreles, gaviotas, gaviotines, pelícanos, cisnes y muchos otros. El tour continúa por la costa en la bahía de Caulín, con una degustación de ostras frente al mar. A continuación nos dirigimos a la zona de Puñihuil, donde navegaremos alrededor de los islotes donde habitan una gran variedad de aves y donde tienen su colonia reproductiva en primavera y verano los pingüinos de Humboldt y de Magallanes. Después del almuerzo en un restaurant local, regresamos al Puerto Varas visitando en el paso la ciudad de Ancud.
