Dear Parents,

It was so lovely to welcome the children back into school on Monday after our half term break. We have had an action packed first week back and the rest of term looks busy too!

Halloween Discos

It was fantastic to see so many children at our discos on Monday. The costumes were particularly impressive and we saw some amazing dance moves!

APFS Christmas Cards!

The artwork for the Christmas cards was sent off on Monday with a delivery date of 11th November. This year the cards have been less successful due to the online ordering system, we will review again for next year perhaps with a different company. Thank you for your patience and persistence with ordering!

Parent Meetings 7 th and 9 th November

Our parent meetings are booked for next week and the staff are looking forward to meeting with you all. If you haven’t yet made an appointment please get in touch and we will do our best to set one up.

FOBS Meeting

Our Friends of Blennerhasset School (FOBS) committee are meeting on Thursday 10th November between 2pm and 3pm to discuss fundraising and events for the coming year. As a parent of Blennerhasset School you automatically become a part of FOBS so if you have any ideas or want to attend the meetings please come along to school or put your ideas in the ‘FOBS Suggestions Box in the nurture area of school. FOBS play a vital role in school life and the money they raise is for the benefit of all pupils in school. It’s a great way to get to know other parents and get involved in creative activities to help our school families and wider community.

Blennerhasset Primary School Believe, Achieve, Succeed! After School Clubs

Our after school clubs are now full and you should have received an updated list with the names of the children in each club. If you have missed the updated list please ask in school for another.

Good News!!

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Davies on completing her NPQML (Middle Leadership) qualification. She has been working extremely hard over the last 18 months developing the teaching and learning of Mathematics in school and her efforts have been both acknowledged and celebrated in the high praise and feedback she received from the National College. Fantastic effort Mrs. Davies, we are all incredibly proud of you – well done!

Scholastic Book Fair

We will be holding Book Fairs in school every day from Friday 25th November until Wednesday 30th November. You will be able to buy books between 8.30am and 9am and 3pm-4pm. These have been very well supported in the past and every pound spent over £300 is matched for school to purchase books to the same value.

Village Race Night

The Race Night on 15th October raised £690.00 which will be shared between Logan’s Journey Fund and Lanercost House. Thank you so very much for supporting this event either by buying horses or attending on the night. It’s a fantastic amount to support funds that are providing support to school and community families in Blennerhasset.

Online Support

We have been busily adding to our school website and as requested have put a downloadable version of our school uniform order form and after school club request form on there. You can also link directly to the MyMaths website from our homepage for the children’s homework and can download our newsletters too. You can see our Tweets on the homepage too even if you don’t use Twitter and in the coming weeks the children are going to be adding some blog posts about what they have been doing in school. Orders for school uniform for this term need to be returned to Mrs. Studholme by 16th November at the latest. The next orders will be placed after February half term 2017.
