Role Title: We are seeking qualified and experienced volunteer Early Years Practitioners to deliver bilingual Cornish –English sessions to children aged between 2 and 5. Where: Karenza Facility, Cornwall College Camborne Campus, Pool, Redruth, Cornwall When: All year round Saturday mornings from 10.30 to 12.30 Commitment: 2 hours weekly

Requirements: Role summary: Movyans Skolyow Meythrin is a Community Interest Company based in Redruth that provides bilingual Saturday preschool to children aged between 2 and 5. Our volunteer Early years teacher will develop the social and communication skills of the children as well providing a safe and secure environment in which the child can learn. They will build and maintain relationships with parents/guardians to further support pupils as well as operate within multi-agency networks to ensure the correct support is available. Early years teachers record observations and summarise the children's achievements in the Cornish language. They focus on optimum child development and building of confidence in the target language.

Duties:

 Motivating and stimulating the children's learning abilities, often encouraging learning through (sensorial) experience;  Providing pastoral care and support to children, providing them with a secure environment to learn;  Devising and producing visual aids and teaching resources with the help of the parents/carers;  Organising learning materials and resources, and making imaginative use of resources;  Assisting with the development of children's personal/social and language abilities;  Supporting the development of children's basic skills, including physical co-ordination, speech and

Movyans Skolyow Meythrin is registered CIC in England and Wales Page 1 communication;  Encouraging children's mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play;  Developing children's curiosity and knowledge;  Working with others to plan and coordinate work;  Sharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and parents;  Observing, assessing and recording each child's progress;  Attending in-service training;  Ensuring the health and safety of children is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the premises;
