Joe Ruffini is a nationally recognized counter-terror, information operations, and corporate security practitioner. Joe Ruffini was born in Washington, D.C. He pursues an eclectic life and multiple careers. A University of Virginia graduate, Lieutenant Colonel Ruffini retired from the Army in 1995 after a distinguished 20-year career. His diverse military experience includes tank unit commands in both the U.S. and British Armies, counter terror operations in Germany and Cyprus, and command of both the United States Space Surveillance Center and Space Defense Operations Center deep within Cheyenne Mountain. Following Operation Desert Storm, Ruffini became part of the “deep black” world of highly sensitive and classified government programs and operations.
Ruffini’s private sector experience spans the gamut from entrepreneurial initiatives with venture capital groups to enterprise security consulting for Fortune 500 companies. For more than a decade, Ruffini has been a strategic information operations practitioner and theorist. As a national presenter, Ruffini challenges, educates, and entertains audiences with his straight forward, common sense approach to personal and corporate information security and counter terrorism.
