Hercules

The goddess Hera caused much strife

Caused Hercules to kill his wife

His children also met this fate

Whilst he was in an angry state.

Hera made him loose his mind

Though Hercules was always kind

He didn’t know what he had done

Till he had killed his wife and son.

Hercules hung his head in shame

He realised he was much to blame

He sought advice from gods on high

Apollo answered with a cry.

In punishment for murdering

Your family , you’ll serve the King

Of Mycenae and Tiryns city

You’ll labour long without his pity. Twelve long years you’ll perform tasks

You’ll do whatever he dares ask

Your sentence will include such feats

Ferocious monsters you will meet.

Now Hercules asked for help once more

To settle this difficult, dangerous chore

Hermes and Athena came to his aid

And Hercules was a hero made.
