Wedding Guidelines In order to insure that you will have enjoyable memories of your wedding and/or reception, please review the following information

Wedding Ceremony: The wedding ceremony and reception may take place inside the Lakeside Ballroom located in the Lodge or at one of the Group Shelters located within the park. Set up is included in the rental fee for the Lakeside ballroom. The set up and clean up at our Group Shelters are the responsibility of each group.

Wedding Reception: For wedding receptions held in our Lakeside Ballroom, all food and beverage must be purchased from the Lodge with the exception of wedding cakes. The ballroom accommodates up to 90 people and does not have windows. ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE MAY BE BROUGHT INTO THE BANQUET ROOMS. You may provide your own catering in the Group Shelters only. Shelter #1 accommodates 100 people and #2 accommodates up to 250 people. Both shelters have windows with Shelter #1 overlooking the lake.

All three Conference rooms must be reserved for a wedding in the Lodge at a rental fee of $425.00 per day. The Allatoona and Etowah rooms may be used as dressing rooms, banquet food set-up, gifts rooms or other.

The Lodge does not provide catering to the Shelters but will be happy to provide you with a listing of local caterers by calling the Sales Department at 770-975-0055.

You may choose from any of the following menus for receptions or private banquets. Our sales and catering department will be happy to work with you in planning any special menus that you have in mind.

Alcoholic Beverages: All beer, wine, sodas, mixers and alcoholic beverages must be purchased through The Lodge. For your convenience, we offer two types of bar set-ups: A Host Bar provides all beverages charged through one Master Bill. A Cash Bar allows for guests to be responsible for the payment of their own beverages. All bars in the Lakeside Ballroom must be served by our licensed bartender at a charge of $50.00 for the first three hours and $10.00 for each additional hour.

Alcoholic beverages may be served inside the Group Shelters, but is not allowed outside of the Shelters on the park grounds. Guests are responsible for providing their own alcoholic beverages in the Shelters.

Set-up and Preparation: Florists, disc jockeys, bands, photographers, ministers, and cake decorators are welcomed to set up at any time on the day of your event.

If you wish to use the Shelter the day before your scheduled event for rehearsal or decorating, the shelter must be reserved for the additional day.

The Lodge welcomes rented items such as dance floors, arches, candelabras, special linens, lighting, chairs and chair coverings. It is the guest’s responsibility to arrange for delivery and pick up. Please contact your sales coordinator to help coordinate your planning and to receive a listing of rental company recommendations.

Overnight Guestrooms: All weddings, held in the Lodge, will require a two-night minimum of at least 15 guest rooms. No lodging is required with Shelter rental. Your guests must make all lodge room reservations at least 30-days in advance. Each reservation will be charged the first night’s lodging rate by credit card or advance payment at the time the reservation is made. Your sales person will supply you with the necessary telephone numbers for your guests to call when making their reservations. If any unused rooms remain in your room block, the payment for the unused rooms (plus applicable taxes) will be applied to your master account, if the unused rooms were not released 30-days in advanced.

Billing Information: One-half of the total estimated charges for your event will be due as a deposit upon signing the contract. Please note our cancellation policy that is outlined in the contract. Thirty days prior to your event, the balance of the estimated charges will be due. If we have not received full payment two-weeks prior to your event, the event may be cancelled with no refund of deposits.

Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge is the only licensed authority to sell and serve alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises. By law, persons under the age of 21 will not be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are not to be brought on the premise.

**A $50.00 Bartender Fee will apply to all bars.

Reservations for group shelters are made the same as picnic shelter reservations. In order to hold the reservation, a credit card or cash deposit is required at the time the reservation is made. If paying by cash or check, the reservation will be held for 7 days and then the system automatically drops the reservation if a deposit has not been received. The credit card will be charged for the appropriate amount at the time of the call and a confirmation number will be issued. Reservations may be made for up to one year in advance.

Guests are required to check in at the lodge front desk where the key will be issued and parking passes sold.

Accommodates: #1 – 100 people #2 – 250 people

Description #1 – Completely enclosed, air-conditioned and heated; fireplace; located in the Day Use area across from the miniature golf course, near the playgroup and beach; Kitchen enclosed with 3- compartment sink, gas stove/oven and industrial refrigerator; restrooms inside.

#2 – outdoor grill; separate kitchen with sink, counter space, gas stove and refrigerator; food warmer; fireplace; heated; located between the Visitor’s Center and the Lodge; restrooms are within walking distance.

Cost: #1 – Daily $250 #2 – Daily $230

*Includes clean up of mopping, carrying trash to dumpster, and bathroom clean up. Each guest is responsible for taking down tables/chairs and placing all trash in cans.

Rental Hours: #1 – 10a.m. until 9:45p.m. #2 – 10a.m. until 9:45p.m. Food & Beverage Services: Groups may bring in their own food or caterers. We do not set up the facilities however; tables and chairs are included and are located at the shelter. Cooking utensils, pans, etc. are not provided at the shelters.

Parking Fee: The required Georgia State Park Passes are $3.00 per vehicle and can be purchased at the front desk.

Pets: Not permitted inside the buildings

Set up: Each group handles their own; tables and chairs are located at the shelter.

Cancellation: Cancellations and/or changes to reservations are required 30 days prior to arrival with a $10 cancellation fee. The full amount is forfeited if cancellation is within 30-days, or the reservation may be moved to another date, one time, free of charge.

Welcome to Group Shelter #1 at Red Top Mountain State Park! Please read and adhere to the following rules and regulations of this shelter. As the renter, you are held accountable for making sure everyone in your party is aware of all rules and regulations.

*Lights may take up to 3-4 minutes to fully come on. If lights are turned off while you are in the shelter, it will take up to 10 minutes for all the lights to come back on.

*Thermostats are kept in a box to which guests do have access. Shelter is kept at 72 degrees year round. *100 chairs and 15, six-foot folding tables are provided. These are located on the right wall when you enter the shelter. Chairs and tables must be returned as you found them when your function is complete.

*The use of staples, nails, or any tape other than e-z release tape is prohibited. For decorations you may use the permanent hooks that are located on the beams inside the shelter. This rule is in effect for inside the shelter, as well, as outside the shelter.

*Please note that, due to safety reasons, the windows of the shelter must remain closed.

*Only freestanding signs for your group are permitted on the park grounds. No signs can be attached to any Park signs or trees.

*The kitchen contains a gas stove and oven, commercial refrigerator and a 3-bin sink. Dish soap and dishrags are provided for your use. Cooking utensils, pans, etc are not provided at the shelter. Please remember that you are responsible for clean up of the kitchen including stove, refrigerator and sinks.

* Guaranteed time of check-in and check-out : open at 10am, close at 9:45pm.

*Each car must display a valid Georgia Daily Park Pass or Annual Pass. These can be purchased at the Park Kiosk, Visitor Center, Lodge, or at any park pass box located throughout the Park.

*A $100.00 deposit is required at check-in for the group shelter. The deposit is in addition to the rental fee and is refundable upon inspection at checkout. If there is any damage to the shelter, the $100.00 will not be refunded until damage can be assessed and charged. We request that the deposit is made by credit card at check-in. This will be the easiest way to refund the deposit but cash and check are accepted but may not be refunded that day. The refund will be processed on the next business day. The person checking into the shelter the morning of the event is responsible for the deposit. If you would like to pay the deposit and let someone else pick up the key, please call the day before with a credit card that can be processed. Please note that the key will not be released for any reason until a deposit is placed on the shelter!

Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge is not responsible for any personal possessions lost or stolen from the shelter.

Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge is located in North Georgia, two miles east of I-75 via exit #285 only 25 miles north of Atlanta perimeter I-285.

Directions from Atlanta (35 miles): Take I-75 north to exit #285 (Red Top Mountain Road). Turn right and go two miles east to Red Top Mountain State Park. After crossing the bridge, take the second road on your left (Park Marina Road) about one mile and Lodge Road will be on your right.

Directions from Chattanooga (70 miles): Take I-75 south to exit #285 (Red Top Mountain Road). Turn left and go two miles east to Red Top Mountain State Park. After crossing the bridge, take the second road on your left (Park Marina Road) about one mile and Lodge Road will be on your right.
