Knowledge
Essential: Experience of managing a day service A willingness to support anthroposophy and the ethos of Camphill
Desirable: An understanding of the National Care Standards and SSSC A working knowledge of Health & Safety, risk assessments, Environmental Health, and Fire regulations Knowledge of “Social Pedagogy” and its relevance in an adult care setting for people with special needs An understanding of team work in a social care settings An understanding of the earth and mans responsibility towards his environment
Qualifications
Essential: Degree level qualification Desirable: BA in Curative Education, SVQ Registered Licensed Manager Award in Social Care, SVQ 4 in Health and Social Care, Registered Nurse, Dip. Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or similar qualification Scottish Social Services Council registration Various relevant Camphill and Anthroposophical courses Clean driving license
OR a willingness to work towards the required qualifications for this post.
Experience
Essential: Three years in a managerial position within the Health and Social Care sector Three years’ experience of supervising and managing staff Experience of working with adults with, learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviour Experience of recruiting new members (service users) and staff
Desirable: Previous experience of preparing and working to budget and annual targets Previous experience of employment law and human resource issues Person qualities DSM July 2016 v2
Previous experience of appraisal, supervision, and quality assurance Previous experience of training and development issues Experience of working in a setting that involves entrepreneurial activity
Aptitudes
Essential: Ability to be flexible with working hours as the role demands Strong communicator able to liaise effectively with stakeholders A forward looking leadership style, with an ability to motivate, inspire and engage staff Ability to write concisely and clearly in words and figures Ability to use information technology and associated software Good time management skills and ability to achieve deadlines Good health and minimum periods of workplace time off sick
Desirable: Previous experience of Ways to Quality holistic quality assurance Previous experience of writing management and general reports Previous experience of giving verbal reports and speaking to large groups

Essential: Able to support and develop the values, aims and objectives that are the core of Camphill and Tiphereth Ability to work as part of a team and yet independently manage day services An understanding and appreciation of the notion of community and the positive and negative aspects of the various meanings
Desirable: Able to absorb new concepts quickly and adapt to changing circumstances Able to cope with the rigors of management in a community setting
