In addition it is designed to introduce the nursing student to a wide variety of basic clinical nursing skills, which progress in level of difficulty. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of scientific concepts and principles, and ethical/ legal aspects as a guide in developing competence of these skills. The nursing process is the foundation on which class room and laboratory activities are based and provide a focus for all nursing interventions
