1.  Introduce group purpose and develop group rules  Group booklets  Pass out group booklets  Pre assessment  Pre assessment  Group promise parent letter  Topic: Cooperation and working together (ice-  Spot-It game breaker activity) 2.  Yelling Out  Volcano model, baking soda, vinegar  Conduct volcano experiment and facilitate (with red dye) conversation about how our mouths are like a  “My Mouth is a Volcano” book volcano  Scenarios  Read “My Mouth is a Volcano” by Julia Cook  Scenarios  Discuss how it affects our friendships with others and our ability to listen and focus on what others are saying/teaching 3.  Listening behaviors- Play Simon Says/listening to  Song lyrics and music direction activity (draw a picture)  Define active listening  Discuss what it looks like to engage in active listening using visual  Have students fill in the blanks on worksheet-listen to song and look at lyrics 4.  Personal Space  “Personal Space Camp” book  Read “Personal Space Camp” and use hula hoops  Hula hoops  Talk about personal space circles and identify who belongs in each circle 5.  Leader vs. Boss-what is the difference?  Markers  Complete T-chart activity  T-chart  Facilitate conversation about “worry about myself”
