Oklahoma Professional Development Registry 1302.92 DHS Licensing 340:110-3- 284 (b)(c) Policy Head Start staff must register with the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry and apply for the Professional Development Ladder. If you are the Center Director and do not currently have an Oklahoma Director’s Credential, you will apply on this site. The Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (www.okregistry.org) is an online system that recognizes and documents professional development in the early care and education field. Through the Registry, KI BOIS staff can track their professional development. Procedure Register for a Professional Development Registry account

 Go to the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry website (www.okregistry.org) to register for an account.

 Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive your Oklahoma Registry ID number and password through email.

 You will use this information to log into your Registry account.

 Your Registry ID number will not change, but you can change your password.

 You will use your Registry ID (and password) to access your online Registry account.

 Enter or update your personal and employment information and/or review the professional development/training that is on your record.

 Registering allows you to apply online for the Professional Development Ladder or Oklahoma Director’s Credential and check the progress of your application(s).

 Using your ID number when you receive training from an approved source will help ensure you receive credit. The training will be added to your Registry record automatically, and you will not have to send in a copy of your certificate.

To apply for the Professional Development Ladder:

 Go to www.okregistry.org and use your Registry ID and password to log in.  Click on the box that says “Apply for the Professional Development Ladder” and follow the online instructions.

 Submit documentation for any training and professional development that does not already appear on your record. College transcripts must be “official” and mailed in. Other documents can be mailed or faxed. Or you can scan the documents and email them to [email protected].

 Processing may take up to 30 working days.

 There is a $10 fee for your initial PDL application.

 Renewal is the same process as you did when applying for your initial PDL. If your application is received before your current PDL expires there is no fee.

 New staff who have never had a PDL will have 12 months from their hire date to obtain a PDL. Once the PDL is issued, they must keep it current (not let it expire).

 Staff hired with a current PDL must keep it current (not let it expire).

 When you receive the Professional Development Ladder send a copy to the Administration office in your service area.

Oklahoma Director’s Credential (ODC)

 Go to www.okregistry.org use your Registry ID and password to log in.

 Click on the box that says “Apply for the Oklahoma Director’s Credential” and follow the online instructions. If you do not wish to apply online, you can download a paper application on the forms page of the CECPD website.

 Submit documentation for any training and professional development that does not already appear on your record. College transcripts must be “official” and mailed in. Other documents can be mailed or faxed. Or you can scan the documents and email them to [email protected].

 Processing may take up to 30 working days.

 There is a $25 fee for your initial ODC application.

 Renewal is the same process as you did when applying for your initial ODC. If your application is received before your current ODC expires, there is no fee.

 When you receive the Oklahoma Director’s Credential send a copy to the Administration office in your service area. 5-2017
