You are responsible for the following components: 1. A visual presentation This can be done only through Google Slides or Prezi. Either one you choose has to be shared with me! It needs to be visually appealing but simple and easy to read (see rubric.) Even though you have multiple people in your group, you are all making 1 presentation, not 3 different ones. It needs to feel like one complete presentation. It should have some pictures that are relevant to your topic. Your last (10th) slide should be an MLA citation of Freedom Walkers, since that is where the information came from.
2. A note-taking handout This is for the class to use while you are presenting. It needs to be fill-in-the- blank. Be sure to leave enough blanks so that the class has enough to write. Do not put too many, though, so that the class does not have time to fill it in. It needs to match the order and content of the presentation. This needs to be done on Google Docs and it needs to be shared with me!
3. An oral presentation I know this is nerve-racking. You need to practice this with your group members BEFORE the day you present. You need to be careful NOT to read the presentation and to speak clearly, using correct Standard American English. You must present your own information. There CANNOT be one person in the group that presents everything. Everyone MUST present.
SOME WARNINGS: . You must be ready by the due date to present! You will not be offered another opportunity to present. That means that you have no way to make your grade up. . DO NOT put your whole chapter in the presentation. It is YOUR JOB to filter the most important things. DO NOT copy straight from the text all the time. You need to paraphrase and summarize for us. . DO NOT stress your group out. Part of your grade will be your group evaluations. If you do not do your part or if you procrastinate, it will come back to bite you.
My chapter focus: My group members:
Due Date: Monday, November 30 (When we get back from Thanksgiving.) *Not everyone will present this day, but EVERYONE’S presentation is due and will be checked then!
