48/12 Planning Decisions from TDC

The committee was passed a copy of the planning decisions received from Teignbridge District Council prior to the meeting for information.

49/12 Litter – Correspondence received from Carey Taylor

An email had been received from Mrs C Taylor thanking the Clerk for listening to her complaints and for contacting Teignbridge District Council on her behalf to pick up litter on Broadway Road. This was done the following day.

Mrs Carey was concerned with the way Kingsteignton appears to be strewn with litter in all areas, but appreciates the work carried out by the Caretaker and Assistant Caretaker who clean up the Fountain and Parks, who do a sterling job. She mentioned the Teignbridge Parish Sweeper, youngsters who appear to have no regard for anything or anybody and the fact that we only have the service of one full time PCSO and one on reduced duties at the moment. Mrs Taylor said she felt that this was not sufficient to deter bad behaviour.

It was agreed that the Clerk should respond to Mrs Taylor in a similar vein to the response sent to Mr D Grylls and mention the quick response by PCSO Pike in obtaining names of youths who had placed graffiti on the ramp at Clifford Park.

2 50/12 Recycling Facilities in Kingsteignton

Cllr Wickham forwarded to the office a response from Ben Bryant, Recycling Officer, Teignbridge District Council informing us that he is now in a position to arrange recycling bank provision in the northern area of Kingsteignton. Mr Bryant is looking at placing a recycling bin near the Sandygate Inn and asked if the councillors had any other suggestions for the positioning of a bin.

Discussion took place and Cllr Meathrel suggested that a bin could be placed at the top of Broadway Road, near where there used to be a Waste Paper site and also at the Sandygate Business Park, Strap Lane. Councillors were asked if they had any other suggestions to pass these to the Clerk and she will pass these two suggestions on to Mr Bryant.
