Honors English III Outside Reading Assignment

Pre-AP English II Outside Reading Assignment

First Semester

Book Requirement: Non-fiction with a 200 page minimum and no movie version. Teacher must approve book by Wednesday, September 10, 2014.

Suggestions: Biographies & autobiographies, memoirs, historical documentaries, etc. Go beyond the first search for a topic on Amazon, delve into the obscure. Find a book on someone that is not so famous but his/her life story is interesting. Look for the books on topics that interest you but that you are not necessarily already an expert on the content.

The book should be inspiring, enlightening, moving, shocking, etc. How to Take 10 Strokes off your Golf Game or ACT for Dummies would NOT be the kind of non-fiction book that will have significant “moments.”
