2015 Summer Leadership Seminar and Referee Seminar

The SEUSKF Board of Directors welcome you to the 2015 summer Leadership seminar and Referee seminar hosted by the NoVA Budokai club at the Capitol Area Budokai dojo in Alexandria Virginia.

The leadership seminar will be held on Saturday August 8th followed by a Shinpan seminar on Sunday, August 9th. We have not reserved rooms but there are several hotels close by to the dojo. Lunch and dinner are up to each individual and are not supplied but a group outing may occur for dinner Saturday. The deadline for registration is Aug 3.

Who should come? At least one dojo representative and anyone that is currently Sandan and is expecting to test for Yondan in the coming year should attend if possible in order to fulfill the new Yondan promotion requirement that becomes effective in Fall of 2015.

We will need several Nidan and below to participate in matches on Sunday for the Shinpan seminar.

The weekend will feature a Friday night keiko for interested parties starting at 7:30 p.m.

There is no fee for the practice and seminar. The practice and both seminars will be hosted by the Northern Virginia Budokai at the Capital Area Budokai dojo located at 25 S. Quaker Lane, Alexandria, VA 22314.

All attendees of the referee seminar should bring their own shinpanki (flags), tasuki (competition ribbons), and copy of Kendo Shiai and Shinpan Regulations of International Kendo Federation if you are able. We will have some extras on site for reference but not enough for everyone so attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own.

Friday, August 7th at 7:30 p.m. – Practice

Saturday, August 8th at 9:00 a.m. – SEUSKF Board of Directors Meeting (please R.S.V.P. in advance for a head-count)

Saturday, August 8th at 2:30 p.m. – Check –in for Leadership seminar (Seminar will end at 5:30 p.m.)

Sunday, August 9th at 8:30 a.m. – Check-in for Shinpan Seminar (Seminar will end at 12:00 p.m.)
