Another name for the Vatican, and perhaps a better one, is the Holy See. The word see comes from the Latin sancta sedes meaning “holy chair”. By referring to a see, we are speaking of the seat or center of the office and authority of a Bishop. The Holy See is thus the seat and center of the Supreme Pontiff and Bishop of Rome, our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI. The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is the see of Archbishop Daniel N. Cardinal DiNardo. The USCCB is the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, a governing body made up of all American bishops who typically meet biennially in Washington, DC. The USCCB (as do all nations’ conferences of bishops) works closely with the Holy See for the salvation and care of the souls of the world’s Catholic faithful. A few years ago, our former Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza was elected president of the USCCB for one term. Today, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo chairs the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (2002) is the core document that guides and regularizes Catholic worship all over the world. It is the supporting document to the SACRAMENTARY (Roman Missal) which you know as the large red prayer book (with tabs and ribbons) used at our altar in every eucharistic celebration.

MCA decided that when full price albums were converted to midline prices, the albums needed a new number altogether rather than just making the administrative change. In this series, we get reissues of many MCA albums that were only one to three years old, as well as a lot of Decca reissues. Rather than pay the price for new covers and labels, most of these were just stamped with the new numbers in gold ink on the front covers, with the same jackets and labels with the old catalog numbers. Moved by Love: The Experiences of Mexican Women Who Migrated to Canada for a Romantic Relationship By Ilse Natalia Equihua Bracho A thesis submitted to the Graduate Program in Cultural Studies in conformity with the requirements for the Degree of Master of Arts Queen’s University Kingston, Ontario, Canada September, 2017 Copyright © Ilse Natalia Equihua Bracho, 2017 Abstract This thesis deals with love migration, a kind of mobility where the complicated and yet so common emotions and dynamics that characterize any romantic relationship intersect with the disruptions and processes of migration. Because love migration is a relatively unexplored area of study, the present work comprises an exploratory approach which focuses on the perspective of Mexican women who migrated to Canada for a romantic relationship. Specifically, this project aims to address the experiences of displacement and emplacement of love migrants. Put differently, it asks how Mexican women experience moving to Canada and adjusting to the country when their motivation is romantic love. To answer this question, I interviewed 15 Mexican middle-class women who settled in Montreal, Quebec and the greater area of Kingston, Ontario. The sample included participants in heterosexual and same-sex relationships with Mexican and non-Mexican partners they met “unexpectedly” in Mexico, online, or while travelling abroad. The women I interviewed described falling in love with partners who complemented the autonomous lives they had constructed so far. Geographic distance opened the question of migration, and they moved to Canada hoping to build a future with their partners. However, in this thesis I argue that the process of migration challenged these women’s autonomy and romantic motivations.
