News and Notes from St. Stephen Lutheran School Sept. 6, 2017

Kindergarten News: This Friday will be our first color day, and we start with red. Please have your student wear a red shirt for the day. We will then take a picture of our school family, which will be available for purchase. You can see last year's picture in our Cardinal Corner by the main school entrance. Information about ordering pictures will be sent home soon. Thank you to Holly Goetz for volunteering to bring in our red day treat. We will need roughly 50 treats each week. Students are learning our routines, and they now have me Tikki, who has been coming to Kindergarten for years and years. He appreciates the gently way children approach him so as not to scare him. Kindergartners look pretty big compared to a little parakeet! Even though teachers sit close by the children, they eat slowly because there is so much to see. They are not necessarily talking instead of eating. They are trying to eat as much as they can before the recess bell rings (teachers encourage children to eat their main course first.) The calendar you received has the number of the Bible verse on the days they will recite. (We recite as a group until children are confident enough to recite individually.) Please review the Bible passage the night before. The Memory passages match the Bible lessons and are taught as part of class. August and September were included on the same sheet. If you need a new copy of the Bible passages, just let Mrs. Krieger know. God bless your week!

3rd & 4th Grade News: Book orders were due today. Just a reminder that Memory Work has a usual schedule of being due Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
