General Summary– What is the desired end result of this position? Membership and Database Services Assistant is primarily responsible for helping to maintain a database of more than 30,000 records and growing. He or she is charged with the input, output and maintenance of data into the Raiser’s Edge. Time commitment is 40 hours/week April through September and then part-time October through March. One weekend day may be necessary from April – September. The hourly pay will be commensurate with experience.

. Process memberships, gift entries and acknowledgements in a timely and accurate manner. . Enter new constituent information (members, donors, prospects and friends). . Provide support to the Membership & Database Services Manager in the fulfillment of memberships (assist with membership batches and fulfillment during busy times) and gift acknowledgements. . Pull requested lists for mailings, solicitations, etc. and assist with correspondence. . Make necessary updates and corrections (name and address changes, etc.). . Assist members and visitors at the membership desk when necessary. . Process all requests for Membership and Guest pass donations. . Support and staff the Membership Desk as needed. Skills / Training / Experience Required . 2 years prior experience in data entry and database management, ideally a proficiency with Raiser’s Edge (experience with other relational data bases will be considered). . Adept use of Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.). . Ability to use standard office equipment such as calculators, printers, copiers, multi-line phones, etc. . Ability to pay close attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, multi-task and prioritize. . Strong interpersonal skills and effective time-management and organization skills are a must. . Strong verbal and written-communication skills are necessary

Working Conditions / Physical Demands . Ability to work on the computer for long periods of time. . Availability to work some weekends and evenings for special events sometimes required. . Lifting and moving heavy boxes of publications and working outdoors to market membership at special events sometimes required.

This Position Description will be the basis of an annual performance appraisal and is subject to change to meet the needs of the Organization after discussion with the incumbent.
