Introduction Provides background information and summarizes major work in the area Establishes compelling statement of the problem Research questions clearly stated and emerge naturally from problem statement The research problem is significant and will contribute practical or theoretical knowledge Important terms used in the study adequately defined Assumptions and limitations of the study clearly stated
Review of the Literature Uses primary sources Identifies key people and ideas in area selected Literature review addresses problem area and research questions
Method Sample fully described Methodology is sound and research design and procedure clearly stated Instrumentation and equipment fully described Statistics are appropriate for problem
Results Results of the statistical analysis presented in a clear and understandable form Tables used to summarize data
Discussion Clear statement of whether the hypotheses were supported or rejected Conclusions integrate previous literature and major alternative points of view Draws warranted and judicious conclusions that are substantiated by the evidence Conclusions clearly explain results Generalizations confined to the population from which the sample was selected Describes implications for the profession Describes implications for future research
