Welcome to our class! Together, we will learn a great deal of mathematics this year. You will learn to work individually and in cooperative teams. As with learning anything new, practice is required (… that means homework!) You should expect to be challenged and expect to make mistakes. You will learn by understanding and correcting these mistakes. Do your best and you will be rewarded with an exciting math experience. I look forward to a great year together!

I expect you to: You can expect me to: 1. Be prepared for class every day 1. Come to class prepared and ready to teach 2. Respect yourself and others 2. Work as hard as I ask you to work 3. Follow directions and pay attention 3. Provide challenging and stimulating work 4. Always give your best effort! 4. Make math interesting and understandable

Consequences: If you choose to break a rule, you can expect the following to occur:  1st time: Warning  2nd time: Detention/ Phone call home  3rd time: Referral Grading Policy: 98-100 A+ 88-89 B+ 78-79 C+ 68-69 D+ 93-97 A 83-87 B 73-77 C 63-67 D 90-92 A- 80-82 B- 70-72 C- 60-62 D- 0-59 F

Each chapter will have a quiz and a test. Homework will be collected at the end of each chapter. Notebook checks will be given periodically throughout the semester. Students may choose to drop one quiz grade each semester.

During the first quarter, students may transfer classes until one week following the 5 week progress report (October 3th to the 7th) or at the semester break (if space is available).

Passes You are allowed 4 bathroom passes per semester. Suggested Supplies: Please bring the following to class each day:  CVMS agenda book  3-ring binder with paper  4 Dividers labeled “Notes”, “Warm-ups”, Classwork”, and “Homework”  Pencil with eraser  Red Pen (Students who need supplies should contact the teacher.)

Homework Policy: Homework will be assigned DAILY and stamped for completion in class. Homework assignments must be written down in student’s agenda books, completed in pencil, odd problems corrected in red pen, and written on a separate piece of paper. All homework assignments will be posted on my website. For additional homework guidelines, please refer to my ABOUT THE HOMEWORK handout.
